Operational data model
A versioned semantic model connects entities, relationships and actions with the context of the business.
Engineering scope
Business objects represent assets, orders, cases or other agreed entities. Properties, links and events express state and relationships; entity resolution reconciles identifiers without silently merging uncertain matches. Domain owners define the meaning of records and the evidence needed to link them.
Object, action and function definitions provide a shared vocabulary for people, applications and AI. Business rules and metrics are versioned alongside the model, so a dashboard, a workflow and a contextual answer can use the same definitions rather than competing calculations.
Search and discovery expose only permitted entities and properties. Actions are distinct from observations: a state change calls a configured function or authorized writeback interface, checks preconditions and records the actor, reason and outcome.
Configured inputs
Entity identifiers, source records, relationship evidence, event histories, domain definitions, rule specifications and action preconditions.
Configured outputs
Versioned object/property/link definitions, resolved entities, metric definitions, searchable context and authorized action contracts.
Roles & operational workflow
Domain specialists approve meaning; data stewards review ambiguous matches; application developers bind workflows to model versions. Users inspect source context before initiating an action, and authorized owners approve consequential changes.
Interfaces & governance
Model access follows classification and purpose. Resolution confidence and source provenance remain visible; schema migrations and rule changes receive impact review. AI receives the same scoped object context as its permitted tools.
Deployment implications
The model services, search indexes and action execution can run locally. Infrastructure sizing considers entity volumes, update patterns and permitted queries; no claim of compatibility is made without architecture validation.
Deliverables & acceptance evidence
Acceptance demonstrates identifier reconciliation, unresolved-match handling, version migration, consistent metrics across an app and report, denied access and a fully traced authorized action.
