Agents & governed automation
Contextual assistance and tool orchestration with scoped authority, source evidence and human decision points.
Engineering scope
Copilots retrieve permitted context and produce source-grounded answers with citations. Retrieval policies, prompts and model configurations are versioned; when evidence is insufficient, the system can abstain or route a question to a reviewer rather than invent an answer.
Agents orchestrate approved tools through controlled interfaces and APIs. Workflow triggers initiate scoped runs with explicit execution budgets and permissions. Prompt, policy and evaluation changes follow release review, and tool arguments are validated independently of model output.
Replayable execution traces connect retrieved sources, tool calls, approvals and outcomes. Exceptions route to named owners. Consequential actions require authorized human approval; an agent recommendation does not itself authorize critical, security or financial operations.
Configured inputs
Approved knowledge sources, scoped tool definitions, workflow triggers, prompts, policies, evaluation cases and approval rules.
Configured outputs
Cited answers, reviewed recommendations, bounded tool executions, exception queues and traceable approval/action histories.
Roles & operational workflow
Operators request assistance; reviewers inspect cited evidence and proposed actions; authorized people approve consequential steps. Tool owners define what can be executed and how exceptions are escalated.
Interfaces & governance
Agent identity is separate from human authority. Retrieval respects access policy, tools enforce least privilege, and traces use controlled retention. Evaluations test injection attempts, unauthorized actions, missing evidence and approval bypass.
Deployment implications
Retrieval, orchestration, tools and permitted models can run entirely locally. Air-gapped agents use local indexes and endpoints; any external integration is excluded from the agreed isolated configuration.
Deliverables & acceptance evidence
Acceptance demonstrates source-grounded answers, permission denial, validated arguments, human approval enforcement, replayable traces and recovery from tool failure without duplicate consequential actions.
